The new building will be a Akershus University Hospital, which is designed to emphasize feelings of comfort, security and clarity, in which each of the functions performed daily are an element that plays with the environment, defining the architecture each space. This is how we can say that the Hospital of Akershus University is building on its traditional institutional architecture, because it is inspired by emotions and situations, and integral design seeks to enhance these feelings to provide a feeling of welcome to their patients and their families. Although each of the rooms has its own architectural character is trying to keep the same architectural expression, this was achieved through the use of transparency and panels. In the area of the rooms of bedridden adults try to use dark colored panels to create a serene and elegant, while bedridden children used wood panels that resemble the colors lands because these give a calm and mixed with the nature outside. The main facade (access) is made use of curtain wall facades and glass to achieve this transparency.
