Big Architects has designed a new proposal from an undisclosed location in Taiwan. Dubbed as “TED”, the building has an urban mix of the programs without apparent hierarchy. The building offers 43,000 square meters office space, shops, hotels, conference rooms, exhibition spaces and restaurants. The road is rolled into a downward spiral that goes from the ground to the roof garden. The cubic building is finished in concrete shells that serve as sun shades, regulate the internal temperature throughout the year. The sheets will also move back to forming a ladder inside public where the public can enter the facade and roof. On the roof, the path is extended to form a large informal public space. All the restaurants in the attic floor are open to sand the ceiling making it a natural meeting point of the occupants of the building.
