July 2012 Photo Contest Winner and Finalists
The theme for this month’s photo contest was Trees.
And the winner for July is Anne-Louise Betts
Our judge Summer Rayne Oakes says: “The black-and-white high contrast gives it such an idyllic appeal. It’s the sun-dappledness of the trail; the deliberateness of the tree-lined streets; the low-lying wooden fence….It’s a manicured landscape, but one that had been planned by someone who clearly loves the landscape – and the framing of the photo draws you in for a walk between the sun and shade.”

Our judge Summer Rayne Oakes says: “There is something spectacular in the way that this photo is framed. The tree rises up beyond eye fame. The gnarled, exposed roots show us the perseverance of a living thing over time – and reminds me of why trees are so spectacular.”
