In 2003 the municipality of Groningen city launched a program called “The Intense City”, which was to keep the city compact foundation encouraging the construction of tall buildings both downtown and in surrounding areas. Rokade residential block is located in the first area of ??densification and marks the corner of access to district Hoornse Meer.
This block is related to a nursing home called Maartenshof and is below the building. These departments are directed to those who are entering the third age, and if necessary may request care from home to their own departments. Both buildings are subtly linked.
This 21-story tower is composed of 4 apartments in each of its floors, which are located in L-shaped with the apex toward indoor and open views to the surroundings.
