From every point in the house, views of nature around to dominate. At the heart of this house plan, open spaces blur the line between indoors and out, letting nature absorb every inch. The move towards sustainable architectural design sets the tone for this project among the trees; a timber clad house “green” in more than one way. Main-floor living room and upstairs bedrooms provide the difference between public and private space. When the Dutch architecture firm Van der Velde Architecten designed Grosfeld this striking home Teteringen forest, near Breda, they took into account some important must-haves for the home owners, which is an eco house design. An enclosed rectangular volume of black-stained wood and a large glass will guide you through the interior of the house while still maintaining contact with the forest.
