Diller Scofidio + Renfro submitted the creative arts center for the campus of Brown University to be completed by 2010. With over 3,000 square feet to include a recital hall, recording studio, multimedia lab, galleries and production.
The design of interior spaces is generated by a condition of court in a story line that moves vertically in the middle of the total height of each floor. This creates a visual connection between different spaces interrupted only by a curtain wall. The spaces are designed to accommodate different activities.
At ground level the landscape is tilted towards the area of ??access and partly down to the hall of concerts, inviting people to access.
