The study Finnish ARK -house Architects has completed a center visit to sailors at the Port of Vuosaari in Helsinki, sandwiched between two walls wooden bent long. Called “Helsinki Seafarers ‘Centre ‘or Centre Mariners in Helsinki , its role is to serve as a resting place for sailors coming into port. Facilities include a café, laundry and computer area . The white interior is pierced by flashes of color bright and great ceiling panels lighting . The infinitely small volume of the “Helsinki Seafarers ‘Centre ‘ was in danger of being completely dominated by deposits crushing classifieds steel, landscape artificial of fields tar and seas archive. For this reason it was chosen a soft organic shape to the building and the use of wood. The architecture of the building could be described as contextual in the sense of the word: the hill preserved , with its trees and rocks, is an essential part of the building’s architecture . structure entirely of wood and compactness are a tribute to wooden boats . The premises offer both power physical and spiritual . Provides a cozy atmosphere and the simultaneous experience of familiarity and novelty. The goal in building design has been to create a unique identity. So the traveler far can take home a positive memory of something seductively strange and hospitable .
